About Lucie Green
Since moving from England I have lived in New Zealand’s stunning Bay of Islands for the past eleven years. I’m kept busy raising three beautiful children and running a successful website design business and, of course, having a wonderful time as a marriage celebrant helping couple to make their big day everything they want it to be.
I love the Northland lifestyle and really can’t imagine anywhere better to live than the Bay of Islands.
I have made many great friends here, particularly Tom Baker QSM, JP, who very kindly took me under his wing seven years ago and coached me to become a wedding celebrant. He married over 400 couples in the Bay of Islands during 25 years as a marriage celebrant. Sadly Tom passed away in May 2016 and I will always consider myself privileged to have been his friend.
My heartfelt thanks goes out to Tom for his knowledge and support over the years which together with my own experiences has made me passionate about providing couples with the best wedding ceremony that I can.
So what happens when you choose a celebrant?
At the first meeting (or chat over the phone / Skype if easier) you will have the opportunity of fully discussing your preferences for your ceremony and, or course, asking plenty of questions.
On making your booking, you will be given an information pack which will include samples of wedding vows, samples of blessings, examples of wordings you may care to use when exchanging your vows, and suitable readings, etc.
Should you choose to, you will be able to use part or all of any of these or you can use them as a guide and choose other wording if you feel it is more personal to you. I will do everything they can to assist you in planning your perfect ceremony.
I can even take some of the stress out of organising the legal paperwork. Many Marriage Celebrants will expect you to organise the licence yourself but we know from our many years of experience that it can be complicated and the problems that can arise from mistakes could result in your not being able to get married when you wish to.
This service is particularly popular with overseas visitors who can rest assured in the knowledge that all the legal necessities of obtaining a Marriage Licence will be in taken care of before they even arrive in New Zealand and in plenty of time for their wedding.
